Join our guest instructor Peggy Logan to learn the traditional technique of kiln fired enameling. Enameling is the beautiful art of fusing powdered glass onto metal to create colorful and imaginative jewellery designs.

In this fun, two-day workshop, the fundamentals of enameling on copper will be covered including: cleaning and preparation of the metal; counter enameling; color chart explanation; and kiln use.

The students will learn to utilize many of the techniques employed in making enameled jewellery such as stenciling, painting with enamel, sgraffito, graphite pencil drawing on enamel, and application of rods and miliforie.

Students will leave the class with a new set of skills as well as a complete simple pair of earrings or a pendant, plus some sample tiles of the different techniques.

This course is required for attending the Intermediate Cloisonne’ Enamelling course.

What some of our students have to say:
“I loved how hands on it was and that we got to make several small, fully realized projects to take away”

“I enjoyed most that I had zero previous experience in silversmithing but walked away having accomplished professional-grade work! Empowering!”

“Loved that we learned enough various skills to be able to dream up our own creations”
