Kareena Newton

 

Kareena is a jeweller, gemmologist and full-on rock nerd.

She apprenticed in the jewellery trade in Australia and then studied Gemmology in Sydney.

After moving to London she taught jewellery classes and contracted for other jewellery designers and sold at London markets on the weekends.

Her family moved back to Australia and after 13 years decided to move again to Vancouver Island, where Kareena loves the outdoors and gets most of her inspiration from there.

She has worked in resin, PMC, silver and precious metals, electroplating/forming and etching and loves to learn new skills, techniques and explore new materials.  Recently completed a lapidary course and loves exploring the beaches of BC for rocks to cut.

In Victoria she briefly worked at Argentum with Valeria and is now back as co-owner of Stairway Studio.
