Join guest instructor Cheryl Jacobs for a creative and hands-on two-day workshop exploring the expressive possibilities of wax in jewelry design.
In this class, you’ll learn to manipulate soft sheet wax, wax wire, and modeling wax to build organic, flowing forms—and you’ll also have the option to carve harder wax for more defined, structural designs. Whether you choose to sculpt, carve, or combine both techniques, this workshop opens up exciting new ways to bring your jewelry ideas to life.
Perfect for lovers of natural forms, abstract shapes, or whimsical textures, wax offers a versatile and tactile approach to jewelry making.
Over two full-day (6-hour) sessions, you will:

Explore the properties and creative potential of different types of wax.

Sculpt, layer, and build forms using soft wax modeling techniques.

Try your hand at wax carving for crisp edges and detailed shapes.

Experiment with textures, volume, and design flow.

Prepare your piece for casting through spruing and investment.

Participate in the casting process and complete your piece with finishing techniques like filing, polishing, and detailing.
