Have you mastered the basic skills taught in our Jewellery Fundamentals course? Are you ready to be introduced to the world of stone-setting? This course is designed for students who feel comfortable with their current soldering skills and want to learn how to incorporate gemstones into their work using a bezel setting.
Over the first half of this course, the instructor will guide you through creating a bezel setting for both a round and oval cabochon gemstone. You will learn how to calculate the length of bezel wire needed, how to solder the bezel together then onto a backing, and finally how to set your beautiful gemstones. In the second half of the course, students will create a project of their own design (without getting toooo fancy) that they get to wear home! Come explore the world of cabochons with us and start adding those beautiful pops of colour into your work!
**IMPORTANT: Please note that participants are required to be familiar with soldering techniques prior to enrolling in this course. The instructor will not have the ability to dedicate time during the course to review basic soldering skills. If you are unsure, have been out of the studio for more than six months or feel like you may need a refresher, please register for our Soldering Refresher Workshop before attending this course.
