Prerequisites: Silversmithing Fundamentals or equivalent experience
Materials: Copper and brass are included. Sterling silver will be available for purchase if preferred.
Building on the techniques from Hollow Forms 1, this intermediate workshop will guide you through the fabrication of a hollow form ring—a dimensional, lightweight structure that offers endless design possibilities. Unlike solid bands, hollow rings are constructed with an internal cavity, allowing for bold shapes without the weight of solid metal.
Under Cheryl Jacobs' expert guidance, you’ll learn to design and build your own sculptural ring, focusing on clean fabrication, precise soldering, and creative detailing.
While some sample rings may feature stone settings, this course will not cover stone setting techniques—these examples are shown to inspire and demonstrate what’s possible with this technique down the line.
