Have you always wanted to try silversmithing? Here's your chance to test it out without committing to a lengthy course! Over one info-packed weekend, you will learn the skills necessary to create a finished silver ring, pendant or pair of earrings of your own design.
Silversmith Jana Stevenson will guide you through the silversmithing basics of sawing, drilling, pierce-work, filing, texturing, doming & forming, soldering, and polishing.
By the end of the weekend, you'll have created an original piece of silver jewellery that you can bring home and wear. This course is the perfect intro to the art of silversmithing for those with no prior experience, and a fun and productive way to spend a weekend.
All tools and materials are included, with the silver valued at $90.
- This course is a prerequisite for more advanced classes and workshops.
- Stone Setting is not covered in this course, but is covered in the Stone Setting Weekend workshop, or the Intermediate Silversmithing Course.
- Once you have completed this course, you will be eligible for open-studio bench rental.
